TALENTED YOUNG PERFORMERS REQUIRED FOR MODERN ROCK MUSICAL

It’s time to brush up your Shakespeare as Rising Stars start the search for the cast of their next fully-staged production. ‘RJ – A Rock Musical’ is based on the classic story of Romeo and Juliet but with a fresh, youthful dimension and modern twist.

Rising Stars are looking for talented singers and actors (especially boys!) between 11 and 19 years of age to perform in this modern and musical adaptation as well as anyone who would like to be involved in the technical aspects of a show, such as set design, costumes, sound & lighting.

To launch the search, Rising Stars are holding an Information Evening at 7pm on Friday 14th September in the Blyburgate Hall, Beccles. The evening will give all prospective cast members the opportunity to find out more about the show, meet the production team and get more details about how to audition to be in the cast or for a principal role.

Romeo and Juliet is Shakespeare’s classic tragedy of doomed teenage love and the story fits perfectly with the age range of Rising Stars. This rock musical version by Joy Ardy and Andrew Milburn combines the Bard’s original prose interwoven with new lines and musical numbers in a variety of modern styles, including rap music.
