Rising Stars have launched the search for cast members for their next production which will be –
RJ – The Rock Musical
To be performed in Beccles Public Hall on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd March 2019
Rising Stars is looking for enthusiastic and talented singers and actors between 11* and 19 years of age to perform in this musical adaptation with a modern twist.
Romeo and Juliet is based on Shakespeare’s classic tragedy of doomed teenage love and the story fits perfectly with the age range of Rising Stars. This rock musical version by Joy Ardy and Andrew Milburn combines the Bard’s original prose interwoven with new lines and musical numbers in a variety of modern styles, including rap music.
All existing members and anyone considering joining Rising Stars are invited to audition to be in the cast or for a principal role.
Auditions will be held on Friday 5th & Sunday 7th October but you must book your place in advance by completing and returning an Application to Audition form.

*Because RJ is strongly geared towards older teenagers and is quite a complex and difficult show, the committee have decided to limit the cast to those of high school age or older. Existing members of Rising Stars under 11 years of age will be permitted to audition for the company but we will be unable to accept any new members who have not started high school.
We appreciate that this may disappoint some new members who were looking forward to joining Rising Stars. To compensate, the show after RJ (to be performed in July 2019) will be much more suited to the younger cast members with many of the principal roles being in the 8 to 12 year age group.
