Are you 12 to 19 years old and can sing and act?
Do you want to perform in one of the funniest musicals of all time?
Now is your opportunity to show the world what you can do!
Rising Stars have launched the search for cast members for their next production which will be –
To be performed in Beccles Public Hall on the 19th, 20th and 21st March 2020
Rising Stars is looking for enthusiastic and talented singers, dancers and actors between 12* and 19 years of age to perform in this hilarious musical adaptation with a cult following.
Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur’s quest to find the Holy Grail. Inspired by the classic comedy film, ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’, the musical diverts a bit from more traditional versions of the legend.
Instead, Spamalot features shenanigans including a line of beautiful dancing girls, flatulent Frenchmen, and killer rabbits. Throughout the show, Arthur, travelling with his servant Patsy, recruits several knights to accompany him on his quest, including Sir Bedevere, Sir Robin, Sir Lancelot, and Sir Galahad.
Besides the rabbits and farting Frenchman, they meet such characters as the Lady of the Lake, Prince Herbert, Tim the Enchanter, Not Dead Fred, the Black Knight, and the Knights who say Ni.
All existing members and anyone considering joining Rising Stars are invited to an Information Evening at 7pm on Friday 13th September at Blyburgate Hall in Beccles, where there will be the opportunity to find out more about the show, meet the production team and get more details about how to audition to be in the cast or for a principal role.
For more information on how to get involved with this exciting, friendly and award-winning group of young performers, come along to the Information evening or Contact Us
If you can’t make it to the Information Evening but are still interested in being involved with the show, just let us know and we’ll make sure all the information given out on the night is emailed to you.
We look forward to meeting you.
*Because Spamalot is strongly geared towards older teenagers and is quite a complex and difficult show, the committee have decided to limit the cast to those of high school age (year 7) or older. Existing members of Rising Stars under 12 years of age will be permitted to audition for the company but we will be unable to accept any new members who have not started high school by September 2019.
We appreciate that this may disappoint some new members who were looking forward to joining Rising Stars. To compensate, the show after Spamalot (to be performed in July 2020) will be much more suited to the younger cast members with many of the principal roles being in the 8 to 12 year age group.
