Tickets go on sale for ‘The Evacuees’
Tickets are now on sale for Rising Stars’ forthcoming production of ‘The Evacuees’. The award-winning cast are currently putting their finishing flourishes to this poignant tale which will be staged nightly in Beccles Public Hall & Theatre from Thursday 18th to Saturday the 20th July at 7.30pm.
‘The Evacuees’ tells the story of the mass evacuation of children from towns and cities at the start of the Second World War in 1939. The story centres around Susan, her younger brother Keith and their classmates as they are sent away to live with strangers in the comparative safety of the English countryside. It also reveals how lives would never be the same again for the mothers and other adults who were left behind. Fully costumed and accompanied by live musicians, this Rising Stars’ show has been scheduled to coincide with the 80th Anniversary of real-life events.
‘The Evacuees’ is the next fully-staged show in a long line of successful musical productions by the Beccles-based musical theatre group, whose previous credits have included ‘Romeo & Juliet – A Rock Musical’, ‘Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ and ‘Les Misérables’.
Although the majority of the cast are under 18, they pride themselves on bringing the high quality and professionalism that you would expect of any theatre company to all of their performances.
Tickets for ‘The Evacuees’ are priced at £10 for adults and £7.50 for under 18s and can be purchased either by visiting Beccles Public Hall Box Office or by telephoning 01502 770060.
